PROJECT TITLE: DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW AUTOMATIC THERMOFORMING SYSTEM FOR NAVAL STRUCTURES (ITC-20133004)
CONFORSHIP project is a great integrated experimental development and strategic project whose object is to achieve effective implementation in the shipbuilding industry of a new automatic thermoforming system for obtaining sheets of complex curvature.
Currently, this is done manually resulting in inefficiency, unpredictability and quality problems.
This implementation will be achieved through the development of technologies consisting of:
- Numerical modeling of the heating system
- Integrated control and measurement of geometry systems
- Programming and automatic closed loop control systems based on predictive models and expert systems to be incorporated into a CNC machine, resulting in a new concept of machine and automatic process formed material that would be exportable, subsequently, to other industries
- Generation of expert system based on the experience of the operators to allow proactive correction of heat lines depending on the actual behavior of the sheet as it is shaped.
This project has been promoted by NODOSA and C.N.P. FREIRE shipyards along with NODOSAFER machinery manufacturer, which leads the project.
The participant shipyards direct the integration of the different results and validation of the technology developed in the enviroment of the shipbuilding industry.
The consortium also includes the participation of a big company like Coremain, specializing in software development and a SME specialized, among others, in automation and integration of industrial processes such as SYSPRO Engineering.
This project has been supported by the CDTI, the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Galician Agency for Innovation (AGI) and the Technology Fund.
